It’s beginning to look a lot like cocktails! Time to deck the halls with this fun and festive Christmas bar cart.
‘Tis the season to bring out the eggnog and spike the hot cocoa. Whether you are throwing a swanky Christmas party or just want to deck the halls, a Christmas bar cart is a fun and festive way to decorate for the season! Check out these creative Christmas bar cart ideas to get in the spirit and celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.
But first! Before you decorate your bar cart for Christmas, here are some essential bar cart items you might want to include:
- Cocktail-making tools (I have a great cocktail tool kit from Target)
- Cocktail Shaker
- Ice bucket
- Glasses- These beaded cocktail glasses are my favorite.
- Stirrers/straws
- Napkins
- Decanter- we store our whiskey in this beautiful, personalized whiskey decanter. You can purchase your own personalized whiskey decanter here on Etsy. They make a great Christmas gift!
- Booze (seasonal of course)
- Personal touches/holiday decor
Every bar cart is unique. Include items that would be most useful to you. Even if you aren’t a cocktail drinker, owning a bar cart is still a very functional piece of furniture. It is a great place to display your fancy glasses and serveware and is also useful when hosting parties to serve food and other non-alcoholic drinks. I would highly recommend this bar cart I purchased from Overstock. It works great! Now that you have the basics, scroll down for some Christmas-inspired bar cart decor!
Christmas Bar Cart Decor
Hot chocolate Station
No holiday bar cart is complete without a hot chocolate station! For your hot chocolate station, fill a Christmas mug with candy canes. Pottery Barn has the cutest Santa mugs. Next fill some small jars with hot cocoa mix, mini marshmallows, and crushed peppermint. I found these already-packaged hot cocoa jars at Homegoods!
Christmas Cocktail Napkins
I love a themed cocktail napkin. Whatever holiday it is, you can always find fun cocktail napkins at Homegoods, Marshalls, or TJMAXX. These “spike the cocoa” napkins were perfect next to my hot chocolate station. Here is the link to the acrylic napkin holder I have too!
Christmas Printables
As you already know from previous posts, I am always using holiday printables to decorate with. They are an easy and cheap way to decorate for any occasion. If you have any frames displayed on your bar cart, replace the old photo with a Christmas print. You can find FREE Christmas printables on Pinterest or try making them yourself. I created this ”FA LA LA LA LA” and ”It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas” printable myself. Click the links to download and print for free!
Christmas Greenery + Lights
Hang your favorite Christmas garland from your bar cart and decorate it with greenery and Christmas lights. Create your own bouquet of greenery and place it in a vase. You can find some beautiful stems from Michales or Hobby Lobby. Hang Christmas balls from the greenery and add some lights for a festive touch. I love this pack of fairy lights from Amazon to decorate the house with all year long.
Holiday Liqueur
Depending on the time of year, I like to switch up the liqueurs on display. You’ll still want to stock your basics but then add in some fun seasonal libations. For your Christmas bar cart think decadent, creamy, and warm liqueurs. Here are some ideas for your holiday bar cart:
- Glühwein
- Godiva Chocolate Liqueur
- Bailey’s Irish Cream
- Kahlua
- Eggnog of course!
- Peppermint Schnapps
- Amaretto
Christmas Accessories
Now the fun part! Head over to Homegoods or Hobby Lobby and find some festive Christmas accessories. Better yet go through your bin of old Christmas decor and I’m sure you’ll find some things to put out on display. You could decorate with Christmas ornaments, candles, mistletoe, Christmas figurines, etc. I found the “Noel” figurine at Hobby Lobby. The Christmas tree ice bucket, Santa hat wine stopper, and Santa coasters are all from Homegoods. Don’t forget to add some Christmas balls too!
Christmas Cocktails
Now that you have your Christmas bar cart all decked out it’s time to make your festive holiday drinks! How cute are these?!
You can find the adorable gingerbread men cookies at Trader Joe’s. They taste delicious with eggnog, though they are almost too cute to eat! The cocktail on the right is my take on a Christmas margarita. Stayed tuned for some fun Christmas cocktail ideas coming your way soon!
